DESCRIPTION:BEER NAME:\nS’Alt – Salted Altbier – 5.0% ABV \n\nBrewed with our friends at Bent Barley Brewing Co for Collabfest 2024.  When two 2023 GABF award winning breweries get together\, something weird is going to happen.  We put our medals together and ended up going in an opposite direction than we are both used to.  We made a classic altbier and then added three pounds of Rocky Mountain red salt.  Adding salt changes the water chemistry and has many different effects on flavor\, smoothness\, and perceived bitterness.

When you get together four brewers that have a total of 10 cats\, it’s easy to get distracted by shiny metal objects.  We all decided on a – wait something shiny?? – kristalweizen for our collab\, which is a clear version of a hefeweizen\, brewed with 100% Colorado malt.  Expect the same – wait what’s over there??? – kind of flavor profiles you would get from a traditional hefeweizen\, just with less cloudiness.

We brewed our version of an Irish Red Ale with a variety of malts\, including malts that came from the British Isles. Once fermentation was finished\, we added an American touch by dry-hopping it just a wee bit with noble hops from Europe.

DESCRIPTION:BEER NAME:\nKurt’s Mile High Malt* – Vienna Lager with Coffee – 6.0% ABV \n\nA lager brewed with coffee using a recipe built by Kurt Vonnegut’s grandfather who was a brewer in Austria and opened Indianapolis Brewery (closed due to Prohibition). The first batch of this beer was brewed in 1996 and again in 2007 as a tribute to Kurt’s passing\, but this fan and staff favorite comes out of the vault on a regular basis.  2023 Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner in the Coffee Beer category.
