Kat Hess
Head Brewer
Kat has extensive experience overseeing brewing operations at various celebrated craft breweries throughout Colorado, including our sister brew pub Phantom Canyon in Colorado Springs, Hess brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the team. In her role, Kat oversees all aspects of the brewing operations, curates recipes for sought-after brews and leads the Wynkoop team that delivers beer straight from their barrels to guests’ hands.
In 2023, Kat received her World Brewing Academy Diploma from the Siebel Institute of Technology/Doemens Academy, which is recognized as one of the world’s leaders in brewing education. Kat’s passion for brewing, coupled with her commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, positions her as a standout professional in the craft brewing industry. Her two favorite styles of beer are French Saisons and Munich Helles.
When she isn’t creating one-of-a-kind brews, she is often fishing, cooking, playing video games or Dungeons and Dragons, and traveling the world with her family. Kat is originally from Boston and is a huge Boston sports fan. She loves to watch NFL games to cheer on the Patriots! Kat believes beer is best enjoyed with family and friends and great food.
