This Saturday, Dec. 10 at 11 AM we tap the first kegs of a brand new Wynkoop Brewing Company beer, Collective Hoppiness. It's a unique, continuously hopped beer we brewed during the American Homebrewers Association membership rally we hosted on November 12.

Since our start way back in 1988, Wynkoop Brewing Company has been a pioneer on the American beer landscape.
We were the first brewpub in the now beer-rich, craft beer heaven of Colorado. Our original brewer, Russell Scherer, brewed some of the first styles of craft beer ever brewed in the US and Colorado. Today our trade’s innovation award is named after the late, great Russell.
Our thirst for beers beyond the status quo led us to hand craft porters, meads and cask-conditioned beers (we were cask when cask wasn’t cool) and other current craft beer fixtures that beer lovers had never tasted before.
From the start our focus was on delicious, out of the mainstream, goose-bump-inducing beers of moderate strength. That tradition continues today, and Rail Yard Ale tops our list of complex, balanced, refreshing beers. It’s joined by our B3K Schwarzbier, Wixa Weiss and many others dispensed from our taps and beer engines.
Head brewer Andy Brown and his staff also flex our style muscles with more assertive (yet always balanced) beers. Our list of bigger, boundary-stretching beers includes double IPAs, barley wines, barrel-aged beers, Belgian-style treats, and brettanomyces-infused and other “wild” beers.
With the launch of our self-distribution effort in the local area, cans and kegs of Rail Yard -- and kegs of all of our other beers -- can be found in close to 100 outlets in the Denver area. Thanks to our hand canning effort, we’re blazing a new trail on the packaging front, too.
Look around the site for the full details on our beery pleasures. Get the latest info on our beers at this site’s Beer Blog, and be sure and take a peek at our Beer TV clips. Have a question? Drop us a line if you need more information. Cheers!
Our basement theatre/comedy club has a professional sound system, stage & lighting and green room. The Impulse Theater offers live improvisational comedy (its Denver’s longest-running comedy show) Thursday-Saturday nights. By day and weeknights it doubles as a great space for corporate affairs, seminars and team-building events. The Impulse accommodates up to 160 people. Purchase individual tickets for a scheduled performance, or stage your own production and we’ll cater it. The full bar here serves wine, cocktails and Wynkoop beer made just a few feet away.
The PDR seats up to 20 guests for a private meeting, bachelor or bachelorette party or family dinner. When John Sydney Brown completed construction of our building back in 1890, this room was his private office just off the main showroom. We treat it like a private dining room today, but it’s right off the main bar and very much a part of the “show” there.
Our largest private room hums with vintage charm and turn-of-the-century character. Originally the showroom of our building back in 1890, it now has a fully equipped bar, exposed brick, arched windows and beautiful hardwood floors. The Mercantile can seat 120 dinner guests and up to 150 for a cocktail reception. The private patio means guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains, Wynkoop street and Union Station while sipping our handcrafted beers. The Mercantile Room is an ideal setting for rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, beer dinners and business luncheons.
Our second floor pool hall is Denver’s most elegant billiards parlor. It features 23 tournament-sized billiards tables and beautifully restored turn-of-the-century charm. The back bar was rescued from the tasting room of the bygone, historic Tivoli Brewery once located across Cherry Creek. There are also shuffleboard tables and dart boards. The pool hall accommodates as many as 700 for a private function, it’s the perfect place for a company holiday party or charity fundraiser.
Wrapped around the second-floor bar area and overlooking the billiards hall floor, our L-shaped Landing seats 65 for dinner or 100 for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. It shares the energy and atmosphere of the billiards hall, but lets you feel tucked away in a private space in a Denver landmark. The Landing is a fan favorite for happy hours and birthday parties.
Just off of the second floor billiards hall, these two adjoining private lounges are equipped with an antique billiards table, TV and sound system. Both rooms face west and offer great views of Union Station and the Rocky Mountains. The Brown can accommodate 30 guests for a reception, while the Morey holds up to 45 for dining or presentations. These two rooms combine to host as many as 75 guests. They are a hit with groups seeking a cozy setting with vintage, urban pioneer charm.
Wynkoop Brewing Company offers some of the finest and uniquely Colorado event and banquet facilities in our state. Our glorious, fully restored, circa 1890 building delivers a vintage Colorado setting like no other in Denver.
Our banquet rooms accommodate groups as small as a handful to as large as 1200 people.
These banquet rooms stretch from intimate 19th century parlor rooms to our famed Mercantile Room and our expansive billiards hall. We also have a small theater complete with seating, stage, PA and bar.
Your event attendees can enjoy delicious Wynkoop food from our standard or customized event menus, along with something no other facility offers: fresh Wynkoop beer from our critically acclaimed brewery.
Plus, we’re easily reached from anywhere in the downtown area by walking, riding the free 16th Street Mall shuttle or one of Denver’s new loaner bicycles, or catching Light Rail or a quick cab.
